Sky Burger is an iPhone/iPod Touch app.
My dad bought Sky Burger a while ago, and he let me play it on his iPhone. It seemed like fun, so I downloaded it. Now I can’t stop playing it! I thought it deserved a review.
We’ll start with a little background:
Quote from app description:
Sky burger puts you to work stacking burgers to order! Catch the right ingredients as they fall from the sky, and don’t forget that top bun when you’re done!
Good:
Fun and addicting!
Starts easy, gets harder.
Perfect for passing time when you’re bored.
Bad:
Makes me hungry!
Higher levels are hard!
Age group: 8+
Difficulty Rating: 1-10 depending on level
Fun Rating: 10
Price: $1.99

Overall, this is a great app! In fact, it is our first review to get a five out of five!

I bought 2000+ Games for Mac OS X at Macworld 2008. I am just now playing with it a lot and I thought I would share my thoughts with my readers.
2000+ Games for Mac OS installs itself in the form of an HTML file. In simpler terms, you don’t play it in a special application, you play it in Safari. For this to work, all the files are stored on your computer like websites are stored on a server. Anyway, like the name says, there are over 2000 games. They seem to be gathered from all over the internet because they aren’t all the same company.
Now for my review.
Age Group: Any, games range in difficulty
Difficulty rating: 0-10 Depending on Game
Fun Rating: 8
Price: $9.99

The only problem that could happen because of this game is that almost all games require Flash Player, if not all. This is only a problem on older Macs that can’t run a new version of Flash, so…
Read the System Requirements
• G3 700 MHz or faster, or Intel processor (1.2 GHz recommended)
• 512 MB RAM
• 500 MB free hard disk space

Bejeweled 2 (link takes you to iTunes store)
Good:
Just like Mac version
Cool 3D effects
Hints
Saves your game
Bad:
Doesn’t show time bar when running
Hints cost a lot of points
Overall, I very highky reccomend this game if your are a fan of Bejeweled 2 for Mac or even if you’ve never tried the Mac game.

Comparing BreakClassic with JirboBreak: 99 Levels
These two games are breakout style games where you use your finger to move a paddle along to bounce balls and destroy bricks. (Game called “Brick” on older iPod.)
Jirbo Break
Good:
When you pick up your finger, the game pauses.
High score board.
More colorful.
Bad:
You have to hit each brick twice, making annoying to play for too long.
No extra ball bricks, just extra life.
Scoring isn’t clear. One brick is worth like 50 points.
BreakClassic
Good:
Extra ball bricks.
No “Unstop-a-ball” brick.
Only have to be hit once.
Bad:
Only 25 levels, though 5 new ones come every week or so.
No high score board.
Falling bonus points objects (stars and apples) are hard to catch.
Overall, BreakClassic is my favorite over a Jirbo game again. (Marble Mash is Jirbo too.)

I will try not to talk about iPod Touch ( iTouch as I call it) stuff too much because I know many of you don’t have them, but I will talk about it a little.
Comparing Labyrinth Lite Edition to Marble Mash Lite.
These two games require tilting the device to roll a ball along a course avoiding bad holes to a finish hole.
Marble Mash LE:
Good:
Colorful, more interesting graphics.
Wider tracks, easier.
Lite edition has 15 levels, full version $1.99.
Bad:
Time limit can’t be turned off.
You get sucked into bad holes.
Path isn’t clear.
Labyrinth LE:
Good:
Time limit can be turned off.
Narrower tracks, harder so it lasts longer.
Path is clear and there are hidden shortcuts.
Bad:
Lite Edition has only ten levels, full version is $6.99.
No sound.
Recent update got rid of some shortcuts.
Overall, Labyrinth LE is my favorite.

X-Moto
This is a silly but fun motorcycle racing game. You are a character, though you can’t choose which character, driving through odd rocky courses collecting strawberries. You can do wheelies and change your direction, but you must be careful not to land on your head.

Redline
Redline is a car racing game with interesting 3D graphics. It worked on our game test computer, a PowerPC iMac G5 running 10.4.11 (my friends machine). Though it was a little choppy, the graphics were OK. The graphics and sound effects weren’t my favorite, and your car doesn’t get damaged when you run into a wall. In the demo we were stuck with two courses, both raining so it was harder.

Here is our third posting of Mac OS X game reviews. I will update the list with new reviews later. Fun ratings and difficulty ratings are on a scale of one to five.
Zak and Jack MonsterTown
You are two purple monsters shooting at fish coming at you. You can pick up better weapons that are more powerful. You must avoid things that stop you from shooting for a minute. The levels get harder and harder as you go on.
Ages: 5-10
Difficulty: 4
Fun: 3
Price: $19.99, free demo

Here is our second posting of Mac OS X game reviews. I will update the list with new reviews later. Fun ratings and difficulty ratings are on a scale of one to five.
Snowball Run
In Snowball Run you are a penguin who is running around on a snowball. There are three levels of difficulty and each has 20-40 levels. The whole game is based in a carnival sort of thing up in the clouds. In the early levels there are fences on the edges but they disappear later on. If you fall off, you parachute down and lose a life. You can pick up fish for bonuses and extra lives. I like the game because it’s colorful and fun, but don’t like it because you can’t come back to a game you have saved. Overall it gets a pretty good rating from me. I recommend using a USB video game controller, I explain how to use them here.

Here is our first posting of Mac OS X game reviews. I will update the list with new reviews later. Fun ratings and difficulty ratings are on a scale of one to five.
Super Tux Kart
Super Tux Kart is a very fun 3D racing game. You have a selection of silly characters like two penguins, an octopus, an icebox, and others. There is also a selection of oddly shaped tracks with different scenery. You can run into blocks which give you speed boosts or weapons. There are a few rockets and a land mine. Overall it reminds me a lot of MarioKarts for the Nintendo DS.
